A warm welcome to Gschwinghof

Our organic farm is located at an altitude of about 1000 m in the middle of meadows and idyllic Black Forest countryside and is a special experience in any season.

Our comfortable 4-star holiday flats invite you to relax. The views of the open countryside will make you forget about the daily grind.
Gschwinghof is an ideal starting point for short leisurely walks or more demanding adventure hikes.

Gschwinghof in the Southern Black Forest nature reserve

Holidays on our organic farm are a special experience, in summer and also in winter! On our farm we keep cows, calves, pigs, hens, ducks, rabbits, cats, two mini ponies and our dear farm dog, Peggy.

In the large meadow you will find numerous spots to relax or to just settle down to reading a good book.

We have a rustic mobile barbecue grill for barbecues and for baking the popular bread on a stick.

Comfortable deck chairs and hammocks invite you to relax.

Our range of facilities for children includes table tennis, trampoline, swing, slide, sand pit and our small play barn.

The holiday flats

Our four holiday flats have been awarded four stars and are suitable for accommodating two to five people. All the flats have two bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, a flat screen satellite television and a bathroom. Some of them have a balcony. Families with children are welcome.

Outings into the surrounding area

Magnificent hiking and mountain bike trails and Nordic walking paths take you directly from Gschwinghof past lake Plattensee and past waterfalls and forest reserves. In winter, the high forest cross-country ski run will entice you, as will the hill for tobogganing right on our doorstep. Alpine skiing is possible on the nearby Kandel, Thurner and Feldberg mountains.

The beautiful Baroque church at St. Peter is situated in close vicinity, as is the Country Women’s café at St. Märgen. You can enjoy wine tastings in the valley of the River Glotter.

Freiburg im Breisgau with its typical Bächle (small canals at the edge of the streets) is also worth a visit, as are the Black Forest zoo in Waldkirch, Europe’s longest suspension bridge near Oberried, the waterfalls at Triberg, the Vogtsbauernhöfe open-air farm museum and Europapark, the family theme park in Rust. And there’s much more...
